Directions from Oxford on A34 towards Newbury

1. Take the turning off the A34 signed posted to West Ilsley and the Ridgeway; turn off is just past the garage and is very easy to miss (If you miss this turn off take the next exit to East and West Ilsley).

2. Turn right at the top of the slip road. Cross two mini roundabouts keep going into West Ilsley. The road will become narrow and start to go down a hill into the village.

3. Here you will hit a T- junction, turn right. Through West Ilsley and past a pub called the Harrow Inn.

4. The road is a bit like a roller coaster, keep going towards a village called Farnborough.

5. Go through Farnborough. You hit a T-junction turn right onto the B4494 heading towards Wantage.

6. The road becomes straight (approx. 1 mile) and then dips and corners left. Look out for the red warning triangle indicating a cross road once seen begin indicating left as the turning is on the crest of the hill and can be easily missed, turn left here onto the Ridgeway. (If you start going down hill you've missed the turning.)

7. Follow the gravel track/ with some potholes .You are now actually travelling along the Ridgeway. The track will bear left between two fields, follow the track and you will go through a deer gate and into the farmyard .The main house is the red brick house to the right.

Directions from the A338

1. Follow the A338 all the way into Wantage. At the mini roundabout in front of Broadway Motors, bear left.

2. At the next mini roundabout bear right.

3. Follow the road round the corner and take the B4494 to Newbury. This is Chain Hill.

4. Keep going for 3 miles or so and on the third hill take the right hand turning off the road onto the Ridgeway It is not a very large signpost so take care not to miss it.

5. Follow the gravel track/ with some potholes .You are now actually travelling along the Ridgeway. The track will bear left between two fields, follow the track and you will go through a deer gate and into the farmyard .The main house is the red brick house to the right.
