Chainsaw Maintenance and Cross Cutting Timber 

Proper maintenance of your chainsaw is crucial for safety and efficiency. This course covers the fundamentals of chainsaw maintenance, including sharpening, cleaning, and troubleshooting. Additionally, you’ll learn techniques for cross cutting timber, ensuring precise and safe cuts. 

Small Tree Felling (up to 380mm diameter) 

This module focuses on the techniques and safety measures required for felling small trees with a diameter of up to 380mm. You’ll learn how to assess the tree, plan the felling process, and execute the cut safely and efficiently. 

Medium Tree Felling (over 380mm up to 760mm) 

Felling medium-sized trees requires advanced skills and knowledge. This course covers the methods for safely felling trees with a diameter between 380mm and 760mm. You’ll learn about the necessary equipment, cutting techniques, and safety protocols to manage these larger trees. 

Assisted Tree Felling 

Assisted tree felling involves the use of mechanical aids to safely bring down trees. This training provides instruction on the use of winches, ropes, and other equipment to assist in the felling process, ensuring the safety of the operator and the surrounding area. 

Individual Windblown Trees 

Dealing with windblown trees can be particularly challenging due to the unpredictable nature of their position and tension. This course teaches you how to safely assess and fell individual windblown trees, using techniques to manage the unique hazards they present. 

Partially Hung Trees and Interwoven Stems 

Partially hung trees and interwoven stems pose significant risks during felling operations. This module covers the strategies for safely dealing with these complex situations, including the use of specialised equipment and techniques to prevent accidents and ensure a controlled felling process.
